Economic recovery drived substantial growth of global crude steel production this year, the annual output is expected
to grow by 14.8 to 1.4 billion tons in 2011, which is a record high. There is a big uncertainty for global economic
growth in 2011, inflationary expectations and unbalanced economic recovery may lead to global economic slowdown,
the corresponding increase in crude steel production will decline. Crude steel production is expected to grow by 6%
to 1.484 billion tons next year, this growth mainly from developing countries.
With the economy gradually recovering, this year's global crude steel production growth continue to follow in the
second half of last year. International Iron and Steel Association (worldsteel) statistics show that January_October ,
66 major steel_producing countries and regions from the world, crude steel production was 1,165,1 billion tons, an
increase of 17.5% over the same period in 2008.
