Pressure vessel steel sheet and plate A387 Grade 22 cl1 and A387 Grade 22 cl 2 belong to steel specification ASTM A 387/A 387M.The similar steel gardes in ASME SA 387/ SA 387M,they are steel plates SA387 Grade 22 cl 1 and SA387 Grade 22 cl 2.Comparing with steel A387 Grade 12,A387 Grade 22 owned higher yield strength and tensile strength,the minimum yield point for A387Gr22cl1 and A387Gr22cl2 shall be 310 Mpa,and the tensile strength shall be within 515 to 690 Mpa.As for pressure vessel steel plate SA387Gr22cl1 and SA387Gr22cl2,the better weldability and durability by adding the alloy elements of Cr-Mo when rolling.
Besides the rolling specification under ASTM A387/A387M,the following specifications shall be used in the rolling as A 20/A 20M which is specificaiton for general requirements for steel plates for pressure vessels.A 370 Test methods and definitions for mechanical testing of steel products.A 435/A 435M which is specification for straight-beam ultrasonic examination of steel plates.A 577/A 577M which is specification for ultrasonic angle-beam examination of steel plates.A 578/A 578M which is specification for straight beam ultrasonic examination of plain and clad steel plates for special applications.
