Within 450 to 585 Mpa high tensile strength,pressure vessel steel plate A387 Grade 12 cl 1 and A387 Grade 12 cl 2 are rolled with alloy elements Chromium and Molybdenum under steel specification ASTM A 387/A 387M.These alloy boiler steel plates SA387 Grade 12 cl 1 and SA387 Grade 12 cl 2 have to be done heat treated under Normalizing and tempering or annealing.When permitted by the end user,accelerated cooling from the austenitizing temperature by air blasting or liquid quenching,but followed by tempering.For the steel plates A387GR12 CL1 and A387GR12 CL2,the minimum tempering temperature shall be follows at 620 centi degree.
When done impacting test for these alloy steel plate A387 Grade 12 cl1 and A387 Grade 12 cl2,a sufficient amount of charpy V-notch test specimens shall be taken from the same location from a plate from each heat of steel to construct two transition temperature curves.Else,the test specimens for one transition temeprature curve shal be given the minimum post weld heat treatment cycle which shall be indicated by the end users when they made the purchase order.Now YUSHENG STEEL list the chemical composition for A387 Grade 12 steel plate as below table:
